Question:

Hi. I’m sixteen and I understand that acne is an ordinary adolescence stage of which 98% of teens go through, but mines becoming a big problem. I’m healthy, vegetarian, drink plenty of water, wash, moisturise and tone my face every night before bed and i still cant get rid of the acne on my forehead. Because after three weeks of a no-junk-food diet i tried (to help get rid of them) didn’t work, it led me to believe that it must be a hormonal thing. SO, I went to the school nurse and am now on a contraceptive pill for acne (called Ginet-84) and was told it may take a while to kick in (which I assumed.) But I’m now on the second box (roughly three weeks) and it hasn’t improved anything. I’ve gone now from lots of blackheads on my forehead and heavy pimples on my chin, to lots of heavy pimples everywhere and blackheads on my nose. šŸ™ I even change my pillow slip every week.

Nothing works! I don’t want to be that girl who has low self esteem for her whole life because she feels ugly at 16 and has scarring on her forehead.

Can you help me?

Answer:

Dear Alice,

I can certainly help. Acne is a pest but an easily controllable problem if you are on the right medicines. However you havenā€™t mentioned which country you are staying in and whether I can help or not  would very much depend on that as not all countries recognise UK qualifications (hence I might not be able to send you a prescription) and customs regulations might at times stop you from directly receiving medications in the post. Please read the FAQā€™s on my website which should give you all the information you need about this and register yourself if you wish to seek a consultation. Would be more than happy to helpā€¦..

Wishing you all the bestā€¦

Would be certainly glad to help. However I will need to know what tablets you are taking and need to see photos of your skin to know how bad your acne is. If you wish to obtain a teleconsultation, please visit my website http://www.onlineskinspecialist.com and you should find all the details there. You could give me a call on my mobile (details on my website) if you need more details re: how the teleconsultation process works.

    Hi

I have come across your website and was hoping you will be able to help me.

I am 26 years of age living in London, I have been suffering from mild acne since the age of 16. It started with a mild rush all over my face and occasionally on my back, though the spots on my back are starting to fade. For the past 5 years the spots started to get bigger and leaving dark spot which I am struggling to get rid of.
I have tried microdermabrasion, gylcolic peel, along with topical creams and contraceptive pills which have failed to diminish the dark blemishes.
Would you be able to help me with my problem? And how long would it take for dark blemishes to disappear?

I forgot to mention, I’m from the north of Africa and have dark olive skin tone.

    Many thanks!
