The best treatment for dry skin is to use a moisturiser containing 10% urea, 3-4 times a day, as required. In addition, it is important to avoid soaps and detergents on the skin. Obviously underlying causes for dry skin like atopic dermatitis, thyroid disease etc need to be looked into and treated as required.
