Can You please tell me if that Proactiv acne treatment system really works? I have heard a lot about this Proactiv, I see the as seen on tv infomercials like everyday. Please advise. Thank you so much!

Dear Dan,

Proactive simply contains Benzoyl peroxide 2.5% which is a reasonably good agent for some types of acne. However Benzoyl peroxide is available as a drug formulation (on prescription) at a much cheaper price. Often it works best in combination with a topical antibiotic or retinoid and a number of such combination preparations are available.
